Ski Expo

The long line of snow enthusiasts wrapped around the building for the annual Ski Expo on Saturday, November 14. The annual event, hosted by Outdoor Recreation, celebrated the start of a new ski & snowboard season.

Building 640 was jammin’ all day. The DJ set the tone with high-energy tunes that prompted attendees to break out their dance moves. Ski-Fit demos engaged participants in interactive exercises for slope readiness.

Door prizes were announced on the hour between 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. Several lucky attendees walked away with a variety of great prizes:

  • A Club E-Fit Exerciser, provided by MT Fitness.
  • Four packs of free fitness classes, provided by Orangetheory Fitness.
  • Three $50 gift cards and free dessert coupons, provided by Tucanos Brazilian Grill.
  • Two 2-day lift tickets, provided by Military SnowVentures.
  • A free training course, provided by Farrell’s Extreme Bodyshaping.

Reps from area ski resorts offered amazing discounts on season promotions, while educating those new to the area with maps and tips about the slopes.

Commercial sponsors handed out a variety of really nice swag with special offers on products and services. Several individuals took advantage of the body scan checks offered by a local chiropractor.

Customers viewed the new equipment, had their skis tuned by expert technicians, and scored super deals on merchandise for the entire family. Early-birds beat the rush by scheduling their fittings in advance of the event with the Outdoor Recreation Equipment Checkout Center.

While the adults shopped, the kids escaped to the outside climbing wall and bouncy houses, where they remained until coaxed away by the smell of grilled burgers and dogs.

Families took a break to enjoy lunch (provided free) on picnic tables outside in the Rocky Mountain sunshine.

The highlight of the day was the drawing of the Grand Prize:
A full Alpine Touring (backcountry) Ski setup from Black Diamond, complete with skis, bindings, poles and climbing skins. Retail value: $1,725. It included the following:
