The Rocky Mountain Flight Training Center at Peterson Air Force Base is a truly outstanding organization. I had the pleasure and privilege of being a student in both the private pilot and instrument ground schools, and I can personally attest to both the professionalism and talent of the instructors, as well as the excellence of the aircraft.
The instructors and staff are passionate about flying, about instructing, and about sharing the dream of aviation. The aircraft are maintained beautifully and the fleet of restored T-41B and C models have more horse power and features than you will find in almost any training facility in the region – and at a much better rate!
Beyond the joy of flying and sense of accomplishment that the Aero Club has given me in helping me to earn my ratings and flight time, the club has opened up opportunities in my life I never thought possible. While working on my commercial license at the club I was hired to fly C-130s in the Air Force Reserve, an absolute dream come true for me, allowing me to follow in the footsteps of my father and grandfather as a military aviator.
I owe so much of that to the Rocky Mountain USAF Flight Training Center (Peterson AFB Aero Club), which provided, without equal, a place to learn to fly, a home to nurture one’s enthusiasm for flight and grow it into a life-changing ability.
Whether it’s the excitement of your first solo in the pattern, the grandeur of maneuvering in between snow capped ridgelines behind Pikes Peak, or the stillness and beauty of watching the lights of Denver pass under your wingtip at night, flying is an awe-inspiring experience. The Rocky Mountain Flight Training Center can give you access to this world, and you will never regret it!
