Kids BBQ Cooking Camp

Chef Joe Zamora and Sous Chef Kirk offered a Kids BBQ Cooking Camp at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 17, at The Club. Kids learned BBQ/grill techniques for the main course and how to make homemade BBQ sauce, cole slaw and dessert.

Best of all, they ate what they cooked and seemed to enjoy every bite. Well, there were some kebab veggies left.

Here are the recipes from the Kids BBQ Cooking Camp on Sat., Jan. 17, at The Club.

Interesting fact:  An estimated 685 head cooks and chefs were working in El Paso County from 2006 through 2010. Of those, 70 percent were men.

In April 2014, Chef Zamora offered his first Kids Cooking Camp at Peterson AFB. Kids learned how to make a meal from scratch – from appetizer to dessert. It was a sell-out, and the kids LOVED it! Click here to see some of the photos.
