K.U.D.O. & Egg-Stravaganza

Operation K.U.D.O. and the Easter Egg-Stravaganza (originally scheduled for March 26) was held Sat., April 2, in Capt. David Lyon Memorial Park (except as designated below), located on the southwest corner of Ent Ave. and Peterson Blvd.

O. – Operations

KUDO is a mock deployment exercise to help kids understand the deployment process. Airman & Family Readiness Center offered this program from 8:30 a.m.-2 p.m. Sat., April 2, to children ages 5-14 years who were accompanied by an adult. This event was open to all branches of service, active duty, guard, reserve, DoD civilians and contractors.

The Easter Egg-Stravaganza was originally scheduled for Sat., March 26, but, due to bad weather, we decided to reschedule the event in conjunction with K.U.D.O.

Here’s the schedule of events for the exciting day.

PRE-DEPLOYMENT (Readiness Hangar 123): TIME: 8:30-10 a.m.

  • Issues orders
  • Completes finger prints
  • Issues POA
  • Simulates immunizations and issue record
  • Issue deployment gear
  • Issue itinerary and assign flight/MTL
  • Issues spiritual literature and provide morning snack
  • Swears youth in
  • Commander’s remarks

PRE-DEPLOYMENT TRAINING (Readiness Hangar 123): TIME: 10-11:30 a.m.

  • Camo face painting
  • Weapons display
  • Chemical warfare display
  • Medical First Aid
  • Field communication display
  • Self defense
  • Static display (Police car, EOD, Fire Truck, Humvee Etc.)

LUNCH/BREAK: TIME: 11:30 a.m. – 12 p.m.

DEPLOYMENT CENTER ACTIVITIES (Capt. David Lyon Memorial Park): TIME: 12-1:30 p.m.

  • Marching/basic drills
  • Obstacle course
  • Military core fitness
  • EOD demo
  • Military Working Dog demonstration
  • Fire Department demo
  • HAZMAT demonstration
  • Readiness Chemical Detection and Equipment Armory hands on training

REINTEGRATION/REDEPLOYMENT (Capt. David Lyon Memorial Park): TIME: 1:30-2 p.m.Easter-bunny-&-eggs-355pxls

  • Welcome Home banners and balloons- (Parents will make while kids participating)
  • Commander’s remarks
  • Closing ceremony (certificates/awards, cake & punch)
