“Read Beyond the Beaten Path” is the theme of this year’s Summer Reading Program.
The reading program runs Mon., June 13, through Sat., July 30. Be sure to register and log your reading minutes.

SUMMER READING PROGRAM CELEBRATION PARTY
The Summer Reading Program concludes with a Celebration Party from 10-11:30 a.m. Sat., July 30, in Patriot Park.
- 9 a.m. – RUN BEYOND THE BEATEN PATH. In combination with the Summer Reading Program, this Youth Sports Kids Fun Run starts at 9 a.m. Sat., July 30, in Patriot Park (located on the north side of the RP Lee Youth Center). Register now – July 29 at www.americaskidsrun.org
- 10-11:30 a.m. – CELEBRATION PARTY. The Summer Reading Program concludes with a celebration from 10-11:30 a.m. Sat., July 30, in Patriot Park. It’s free. Note: Krispy Kreme will be at the Celebration Party and will be providing a sampling of donuts. Their slogan is (surprise!) HAPPINESS THROUGH DOUGHNUTS.
- 10:30 a.m. – SCHOOL SUPPLY BACKPACK GIVEAWAY. In combination with the Summer Reading Program, the School Liaison will hand out school supply backpacks starting at 10:30 a.m. Sat., July 30, in Patriot Park. Kids who complete the SRP and participate in the Fun Run that morning will get head-of-the-line privileges for the backpacks.
*Patriot Park is located on the north side of the RP Lee Youth Center, Bldg. 1555 (located on the northeast corner of Selfridge St. and Peterson Blvd.).
