Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to “travel” to each of the planets to discover facts about them and our own little cosmos, Peterson-Schriever Garrison. Prepare for liftoff with friends, family, or coworkers and gather QR Codes along the way for virtual fun.

Pick up Mission Log & first challenge at the Library or Youth Center. Bring completed logs to Library to receive a space capsule of goodies. Bonus – Get your steps in & a FREE T-shirt for this year’s America’s Kids Run at the same time!

Where:  Base Library

Take a Saturday stroll over to the Library for some Sidewalk Astronomy with CS Astronomical Society. Solar Telescoping with galactic guru Dave Warner is a gas…and the closest you can get to staring directly at the sun without being reprimanded by your Optometrist! Check him out here!

When:  5-8 p.m. Saturday, May 8
Where:  Youth Center Gym – FLOOR SEATING – BYOBlankets!

5 p.m.  –  Join Magician (and Senior Instructor for USSPACECOM), Astro-nut “Buzz” Black on a magical journey to planet Mars!  Children of all ages will delight in this STEM magic show that blends comedy, illusion, and science.

6 p.m.  –  After the magic, stick around for a movie and munchies! Enjoy a big screen showing of “Hidden Figures,” while chowing down on a family snack pack from outer space.  Rated PG for Thematic Elements, Some Language. Run time is 2h 7m.  Click here to see the official trailer.

Count your lucky stars with CS Astronomical Society as celestial savant Dave Warner takes us on a green laser pointer tour of the night sky and regales with folktales.  Check him out here! IMAGINE a world beyond your own solar system and CREATE it with the helping hands of STARBASE Peterson Academy. The possibilities are as infinite as the cosmos! But class slots are limited due to social distancing. Class maximum of 8 students (Grades 1-6) and minimum of 3 registrants.
