It was a perfect Colorado summer evening for the estimated 1,250 who attended the Family Festival & Concert on Friday, August 3, in Patriot Park. People loved the food, had a blast on the inflatables, and rocked to the jazzy sounds of Rico and his band, Acoulectric.
It must have been the sound of live music and the smell of barbecue that enticed attendees from the surrounding base neighborhoods. Texas Roadhouse served their thick, delicious, mouth-watering barbecue sandwiches, which everyone gave an enthusiastic thumbs-up. And kids (of all ages) loved the cotton candy and snow cones provided by Tierra Vista. Those machines cranked all evening.
The always-popular quad bungee jump had folks lined up and eager to get a whole new perspective on things. Other inflatables, games and attractions entertained kids and adults for hours. Angel Service Dogs held a captive audience for their service pups in training, which were just too cute to resist.
Airmen and Family Readiness gave out back-to-school kits and helpful information to scores of families, many of whom were new to the area. Not to be out-done, our friends from the USAFA Athletic Association promoted Falcon Football tickets to eagerly awaiting fans. Go Falcons!
Our valuable sponsors provided an assortment of giveaways and answered questions about their products and services for interested patrons. A shout-out goes to Ent Federal Credit Union, USAA, University of Phoenix, Springs Military Life dot com, Martinsburg College. THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT!
