SWING BACK TO SCHOOL FAMILY FORMAL

6-9 p.m. Friday, August 24, in The Club Ballroom

Join us for a memorable evening of dinner and dancing to celebrate our military families and to kick off the start of a new school year. Dinner will be an hors d’oeuvre buffet.

Cost is $15/person ages 12 and older; $12/child ages 3-11. Free for age 2 and younger. Tickets are available for purchase at the Youth Center.

Wednesdays – August 1, 8, 15, 22, 29 – Torch Club for ages 11-13, 3-4 p.m.; Keystone Club for ages 14-18, 4-5 p.m.

Thursdays – August 2, 9, 16, 23, 30 – SMART Girls

Special Events:

August 10 – Family Art Night – Paracord Bracelets, 7-9 p.m., $5/person; $15/family of four, $5 per additional family member after four.  Ages 9 and older.

August 23 – Back to School Open House, 5-6 p.m.

August 24 – Movie Night, 7-9 p.m., $4/person

FALL FLAG FOOTBALL, SOCCER AND CHEER

Registration opens July 9 and closes August 6, 2018. Season runs September through October.

  • Soccer, $65 for ages 5 and older.
  • Start Smart Soccer, $45 for ages 3-4.
  • Flag Football, $65/person, ages 5 and older.
  • Smart Start Football, $45/person, ages 3-4.
  • Cheer, $80/person, ages 5 and older without uniform; $35/person with uniform.

Volunteer coaches needed.

Give Parents A Break/Parents Night Out – opportunity provided by the Air Force Aid Society

RED CROSS BABYSITTING COURSE

Rescue breathing; basic and advanced First Aid; infant and child conscious and unconscious choking; and child and infant CPR.

2018 Class Schedule
8 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday, July 7
8 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday, August 4
8 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday, September 1

Classes are held in the Youth Center, located at 100 Selfridge St., Bldg. #1555, Peterson AFB, CO 80914-3500. Cost is $45 for Advanced RED CROSS Babysitting Course. For more information and to sign up, call 719-556-7220.

Successful course completion required participation in classroom and skills demonstration. Some practice sessions require physical activity. Please wear comfortable clothing and avoid wearing dangling jewelry or jewelry with sharp edges. All Girls: Since most girls are wearing low-rise jeans, please wear a long top or a jacket to wrap around your midriff. Please wear a long shirt, as you will be bending over a lot, and we may have teen boys participating. Long Hair: Please wear hair up or bring a pony tail holder.

If you have a medical condition or disability, or if your have any questions regarding your ability to participate fully in this course, ask your parents or guardians to discuss this with yur physician or healthcare provider and the appropriate person at the local Red Cross chapter before you start the course.

Piano Lessons
$25 per half-hour. Private lessons in our soundproof music room on site. Explore your creative music side with piano. Call 719-556-7220.

(Yes, Olympic superstar Michael Phelps visited the Aquatic Center and RP Lee Youth Center at Peterson AFB in March, 2015.)

The Michael Phelps im Swim Program has five different “bubbles” which create a multifaceted program of water-safety lessons, health and wellness education, as well as goal-setting instruction.

  • im fun
  • im fast

The Michael Phelps im Swim Program was offered in June 2015 by the RP Lee Youth Center in conjunction with the Aquatic Center.
