WE OWN FRIDAY NIGHT
Friday nights at the Youth Center are fun for our teen members ages 13-18. We encourage them to bring a friend who might not be a member so they can experience a cool event at the Youth Center.
The following evenings we host regularly for teens so that have their own space and enjoy a night to themselves with peers. These dates have specific themes:
Friday, January 24, from 7-11 p.m. – NEON NIGHT OUT, a playful neon party with glow sticks and Nerf Wars.
Friday, February 28, from 7-11 p.m. – CONNECTNG WITH FRIENDS, making connection with each other and staying connected without electronics.
Friday, March 20, from 7-11 p.m. – ARE YOU FEELING LUCKY?, for this St. Patrick’s Day party, wear green; we’ll play life-size Jenga, and creative coking for the evening.
Friday, May 22, from 7-11 p.m. – SUMMER KICKOFF TIKI PARTY, hula dancing, limbo dancing and a Hawaiian cooking activity.

MONEY SKILLS CLASS FOR YOUTH
What’s your monthly wage? I’ll bet it seems like a lot, huh? Well, remember to budget for your essentials: rent, food, transportation, health insurance, and retirement. Just when your financial life seem manageable … oops! There was an unanticipated car repair last week ($1,096) and yesterday there was an emergency trip to the veterinarian when the dog ingested some laundry detergent ($782). Yikes!
Money Skills is a nine-week program that meets once a week for 45 minutes where youth get the opportunity to earn real money. The goal of the class is to prepare and educate our young people for their economic futures. Believe me, it’s an eye-opener for them!
Class meets from 4:15-5 p.m. Tuesdays from January 21 through March 17, 2020. It’s open to age 9 and older. Registration is from January 2-17 at the RP Lee Youth Center, Bldg. 1555; call 719-556-7220. It’s free!
$25 per half-hour. Private lessons in our soundproof music room on site. Explore your creative music side with piano. Call 719-556-7220.
