Archery Range at Cheyenne Mountain State Park – (https://cpw.state.co.us/placestogo/parks/CheyenneMountain/Pages/ArcheryRange.aspx) Colorado Parks & Wildlife: Cheyenne Mountain State Park Archery Range, The Field/3D Range is located off of Hwy. 115 on Pine Oaks Rd. across from Ft. Carson Gate #5. 

Cheyenne Mountain Shooting Complex – (https://www.elpasoco.com/cheyenne-mountain-shooting-complex/) – The Cheyenne Mountain Shooting Complex is a joint project between the U.S. Army, El Paso County, the El Paso County Sheriff and the Colorado Division of Parks and Wildlife. The 400-acre site sits on Army land near Interstate 25 just off mile marker 132. The entrance is located just outside Fort Carson’s Gate 20 security perimeter. Shooters using the range will not have to enter Fort Carson to use the range. 

Colorado 24 Hour Snow Report  (http://www.coloradoski.com/snow-report) – Get the most up-to-date snow conditions for most of the Colorado ski resorts.

Colorado Parks & Wildlife (http://cpw.state.co.us/) – Information about hunting, fishing, park passes, boating, wildlife species and much more.

Colorado Road & Weather Conditions (http://www.cotrip.org/home.htm) – No matter what season, find the latest road conditions and weather map here.

Colorado Springs Trails & Hiking (http://www.cospringstrails.com/trails.html) – Urban trail maps.

El Paso County, CO Parks (https://communityservices.elpasoco.com/parks-and-recreation/) – Trail maps and information about nature centers and recreational facilities.

Farish Recreation Center (https://www.usafasupport.com/farish.html) – A wooded recreation area just west of the U.S. Air Force Academy available to military and DoD ID cardholders.

Our COVID-19 Response

In response to COVID-19, Peterson Outdoor Rec is taking proactive steps to protect the health and wellbeing of our employees, customers, and community. We are closely monitoring the pandemic as it evolves and are following the recommendations and guidelines of the Center for Disease Control, World Health Organization, Arkansas River Outfitters Association, PAFB Public Health, Fremont County Public Health Department, and government mandated guidelines.

Outdoor Rec is fully operational.  Our business hours are Monday through Friday 9:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m. and Saturday 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Our Equipment Rental program is up and running, and every effort is made to fully sanitize each piece of rented equipment before it is rented again. Outdoor Adventure Programs is now accepting registrations for trips running this summer, adjustments have been made in our programs in accordance with locally recommended guidelines to protect the health of guides and guests. To reserve rental equipment or sign up for a trip, just call our front counter at 719-556-4867 Opt. 1.

Through all of this uncertainty, the one thing that will never change is our passion and commitment to serving the Peterson AFB community and armed forces of Colorado Springs. We will continually re-assess the COVID-19 situation as it evolves and adjust our plans accordingly. Thank you for your continued support and understanding.
