Congratulations on your upcoming assignment here at Peterson SFB in Colorado. My name is Ms. Victoria, and I am your Point of Contact (POC), or better known as the School Liaison (SL).
If you do have school-age children, it will be my pleasure to guide you and your family through all of the educational opportunities available within the ten School Districts throughout the Colorado Springs and bordering areas. I can also assist you with recreational activities and care options available here on the installation.

The School Liaison at Peterson SFB provides information on Colorado Springs school districts, acts as the liaison between the military community and school administrators, provides consultation services regarding school education, and provides transition information on other school districts for military members who are PCS-ing.

STARBASE Academy – A Department of Defense Youth Program
DoD STARBASE focuses on elementary students, primarily fifth graders. The goal is to motivate them to explore Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) as they continue their education. The academies serve students who are historically under-represented in STEM. Students who live in inner cities or rural locations, those who are socio-economically disadvantaged, low in academic performance or have a disability are in the target group. The program encourages students to set goals and achieve them.

Feeder schools are those that provide bus transportation from Peterson SFB to one of the three schools. Our feeder schools are:

Two online resources for finding great schools. www.greatschools.com looks at parenting, academics, learning with disabilities, and more.
www.coloradoschoolgrades.com gives the military family the ability to compare schools that are located in Colorado against each other. Colorado school grades provide accessible, easy-to-understand information about Colorado school performance. Learn more about the nonprofit coalition behind Colorado School Grades. Using the exact same variables and weights as the Colorado Department of Education’s School Performance Framework, we translate the state’s data into letter grades (A-F) for public schools.
