Our 12th Annual Homebrew Fest spotlighted the creativity of local home brewers and, at the same time, showed off some new regional and national microbrews.
Over the years, this event has attracted more than 300 entries into the competition. Prizes at this year’s event were awarded for different categories, all of which were BJCP categories.
There were plenty to savor – great food, awesome live music by the award-winning WireWood Station and, of course, fantastic suds.
Beer aficionados enjoyed sampling a wide variety of tastes at this popular event. It offered a chance to talk with the homebrewers about their recipes, their process and, of course, their favorite suds.
The first 500 attendees received a commemorative beer glass.
Plus, a very lucky winner won a really cool prize – the Hoppy Trails Package*. It’s a mountain biking – microbrewery outing for four, hosted by Peterson’s Outdoor Recreation. It has a retail value of $120 ($30/person) and includes the following:
- Explore a Colorado Springs trail,
- usage of a mountain bike for the trip,
- transportation to and from the trailhead site,
- a visit to a local microbrewery,
- 1 Silly Pint glass (silicone) per person.
The voucher for the Hoppy Trails Package can be redeemed from late April 2017 through early October 2017. *This exciting prize was offered courtesy of event sponsor First Command Financial Services, Inc. Homebrew Fest patrons registered at the First Command table to enter the drawing.
