Recruits, trains, places and recognizes volunteer services through the annual Volunteer Excellence Award presented during the annual Wing Awards. Airman's Attic Bldg. 1425 (former Base Exchange) Hours: 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Monday, Wednesday and Friday June 1 through September 1, 2010 (719) 556-3215 Offers used items for free for E-5 and below. Accepts donations of quality used items. Helping Hands Volunteer Program Assists family members of the deployed with minor household repairs, minor car repairs, transportation, or lawn care. Loan Closet Bldg. 1425 (former Base Exchange) Hours: 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Monday through Friday beginning August 2, 2010 (719) 556-7614 Provides short-term household items for pre- or post-transitioning. Also provides Layettes for E-5 and below to recognize and assist families upon the birth of a baby. National Military Family Association The National Military Family Association (NMFA) was founded by volunteers, is governed by volunteers and continues to rely on the enormous contributions of its volunteers. The volunteer corps served the Association, families of the Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force, Coast Guard, and the commissioned Crops of the Public Health Service and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.
