The Airman & Family Readiness Center supports customers in achieving short- and long-term employment, education and training, and career goals through employment skills counseling, resources for self-employment, small business and entrepreneurial efforts.

We offer labor market information, employment trend tracking, skills and interest identification, skills development workshops, job referrals, alternatives to paid employment (volunteerism, for example), networks to local employers, and on- and off-base resources.

Current programs help with developing a career plan, establishing community network contacts and utilizing employment listings. Classes are open to family members and civilian employees. Click here for the current class schedule. For more information, call (719)556-6141.

Applying for Federal Service
Addresses how to navigate the federal application process. Taught by Civilian Personnel, this class is held on a bi-monthly basis.

Job Orientation
Examines job information and referrals, exploring careers, improving job search skills, upgrading employment qualifications, and how to use the Discovery Resource Center.

Resume Review
A two-hour interactive course offering tips on how to improve your resume. You must bring a copy of your resume.

Basic Resume
Learn the basic fundamentals of writing a resume, featuring the popular styles and various components of each.

Job Search Techniques
Learn how to effectively use your time searching for and applying for positions online and through networking. Held monthly.

Behavioral Interviewing
Learn the common behavior interview questions and how to best answer them.

Small Business Seminar "Start Up Basics"
Presented by Service Corps of Retired Executives (SCORE), this workshop focuses on the ins and outs of running your own small business.

Understanding Federal Employment for Spouses
(For ALL military spouses) A comprehensive course targeted for career planning, confidence in navigating USAJOBS federal application process, effective federal resume writing, knowledge, skills & abilities applications, and job search skills. Please attend Basic Resume Class prior to this class.

How to Work a Career Fair
Learn how to strategize and effectively use your time at a career fair.

Career Tracks - A Career Toolkit for the Mobile Military Spouse
(Free for all military spouses) A comprehensive two-day career planning workshop will help you extensively discover, clarify, and strengthen skills, values, and interests throughout practical assessment exercises.
