WELCOME MESSAGE FROM YOUR SCHOOL LIAISON PROGRAM MANAGER

Welcome to Colorado!  My name is Jackie, and I am your School Liaison Program Manager.  I want to extend my assistance to help you and your family transition smoothly to Peterson SFB.

The Colorado Springs area has 10 main school districts near Peterson SFB, and I am here to ensure you know the options for public, private, virtual and home-schooling education opportunities for your family.  This includes assistance with special educational services for school age and pre-school children.  In addition, I can assist you with Military Interstate Compact (MIC3) on Educational Opportunities for Military Children.  This compact provides support for children during school transitions, to include dependents of retirees.  Please feel free to reach out for any questions.

Please feel free to reach out to School Liaison with any questions or concerns.

STARBASE Academy – A Department of Defense Youth Program

DoD STARBASE focuses on elementary students, primarily fifth graders. The goal is to motivate them to explore Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) as they continue their education. The academies serve students who are historically under-represented in STEM. Students who live in inner cities or rural locations, those who are socio-economically disadvantaged, low in academic performance or have a disability are in the target group. The program encourages students to set goals and achieve them.
