Year of the Air Force Family Festival ... plus the Peterson Community Appreciation Concert & Car Show - Thursday, July 29

Family Festival & Concert - Thursday, July 29
Enjoy the Family Festival and Concert, a festive evening of live music, games, entertainment, food and a car show from 3:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, July 29, in Patriot Park, located on Peterson Boulevard next to the RP Lee Youth Center. The event will include a concert by Blue Steel, the U.S. Air Force Academy Band's premier commercial popular music ensemble, from 3:30 to 5 p.m. and a concert by the Marshall Tucker Band from 5:30 to 7 p.m. In addition to the live music, there will be a car show with prizes awarded, lots of family entertainment including a bungee trampoline, a bouncy obstacle course, a bouncy house, three or more talented balloon clowns of Al Kaly, and plenty of beverages and food - from burgers to pizza - available for purchase. The Family Festival and Concert is free, so bring a blanket or lawn chairs and stroll over to Patriot Park for a great evening. (Note - The Marshall Tucker Band's concert is a private concert open only to the community of military/DoD ID cardholders in the Pikes Peak region.)

Base Education Fair - Thursday, July 15
Get ready to start college in the fall. Come to the Peterson AFB Education Fair from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday, July 15, outside the BX and Commissary. This is a great opportunity to meet with representatives from many of the local schools as well as those from out of state. These reps will be available to discuss a wide variety of programs suited to the needs of both the traditional and non-traditional student. This event is open to all personnel who have access to Peterson AFB.

The Radio City Christmas Spectacular Features the Rockettes
The world-famous Radio City Rockettes bring their eye-high kicks and a cast and crew of over 100 to Colorado Springs in America's number one holiday show, the Radio City Christmas Spectacular, November 23 and 24. The Spectacular appeals to the entire family. Parents enjoy the flawless precision of the Rockettes in numbers such as the "Parade of the Wooden Soldiers," and children marvel as Santa takes them on a magical ride to his workshop at the North Pole, where playful ragdolls come to life. Front Range Retiree Appreciation Day - Sat., July 24
The Front Range Retiree Appreciation Day will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, July 24, at Arnold Hall, USAF Academy. There will be a free continental style breakfast, free lunch and assorted appetizers, an information and vendor fair that will include more than 50 vendors, medical information, TRICARE information, music by a DJ, and guest speakers: Col LoCastro, 10th Air Base Wing CC, Col Jennings, 21st Space Wing CV, Col Monteith, 50th Space Wing CC. Brown Bag Lunch and Videos
The Civilian Training Office offers you an opportunity to watch training videos while you eat your lunch. The videos are relatively short and cover a variety of topics that can help you become more effective on the job. Free, no need to sign up. The videos are shown in Bldg. 350, Room 1205. Base Shuttle
The Orbiter, the internal base shuttle, operates Monday through Friday, and is free of charge. It is for duty passengers conducting official business throughout the installation; dependents are authorized to use the shuttle on a space available basis.
